The second season of the Cicily Mbarire Governor’s Cup reached an exciting conclusion yesterday, December 14, 2025, as Faith Stars FC were crowned champions in the men’s category, and Kirimari Ladies claimed victory in the women’s division.

The finals drew large crowds and prominent dignitaries, including Embu County Governor Cecily Mbarire, Cabinet Secretary George Ruku, Embu MCAs, and various local leaders, all celebrating the vibrant spirit of sports in the region.

Governor Mbarire expressed her delight at the exceptional talent on display, noting how the athletes’ dedication and skill from across Embu County were instrumental in making the tournament a resounding success.

She extended special thanks to the MCAs for their pivotal role, particularly in approving the crucial budget that brought the event to life.

The governor also expressed gratitude to President William Ruto for overseeing the construction of Moi Stadium and providing funds for state-of-the-art changing rooms, which are nearing completion and set for official handover by the contractor soon.
