UDA Elections Commissioner Leads Grassroots Sensitization in Kirinyaga.

UDA Commissioner for Elections Mary Muting’a today led a voter education and sensitization forum ahead of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) grassroots elections slated for January 10, 2026.

The exercise is part of the party’s broader nationwide programme targeting 20 counties, where members will elect officials at the polling centre, ward, constituency, and county levels.

During the session, Muting’a highlighted that the upcoming polls are designed to entrench internal democracy and strengthen the party’s structures from the bottom up.

She explained that UDA is rolling out a new digital voting and tallying system for the grassroots elections, saying the technology is meant to enhance transparency, credibility, and speed in the management of results.

Muting’a urged party members to familiarize themselves with the digital platforms, emphasizing that proper training would minimize errors and disputes on election day.

She also called on aspirants to conduct peaceful campaigns and respect the will of the members once results are announced.

The commissioner was accompanied by Ndia MP George Kariuki and Kirinyaga Central MP Gachoki Gitari, who both reaffirmed their support for the grassroots exercise and encouraged residents to turn out in large numbers.

Party officials and several Members of County Assembly from Kirinyaga County allied to UDA also attended, lending political weight to the sensitization tour.

The leaders praised the party’s decision to invest in structured grassroots polls, terming it a critical step in preparing for future national contests and consolidating UDA’s support in the region.
